Development of technology sector in the country signals prosperity: Palak
State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak has said that the country's export revenue in the information technology sector has exceeded 1.3 billion dollars. The unprecedented development of the technology sector is signaling prosperity.
The state minister commented so while inspecting the progress of under construction Hi-Tech Park Establishment Project at Sheikh Kamal IT Training and Incubation Center Building, Sheikh Kamal IT Training and Incubation Center Establishment Project and other ongoing projects. On Monday (February 14) at noon in the Sherkol area of Singra Upazila after his inspection while exchanging views with the concerned project managers, he made his above remark in his speech. Bikarna Kumar Ghosh, Managing Director, Hi-Tech Park Authority, presided over the meeting.
State Minister Palak said, “Sheikh Hasina as a servant of the people has transformed the least developed Bangladesh into a developing digital Bangladesh with honesty, foresight and courage. Sajeeb Wazed Joy, the dreamer of Digital Bangladesh, has laid the foundation of Digital Bangladesh on four pillars. As a result, 2 million young people have been employed in the information technology sector. The country's freelancers are currently earning $ 1.3 billion in foreign exchange. 201 citizen services are being provided on digital platforms. With the provision of high speed internet facility through high speed optical fiber cable in every union, the common people sitting in the villages are getting 250 types of civic services. Even though educational institutions were closed during the Corona period, 50 million students of the country remained connected to online classes.
Palak further said, 'Even though the offices were closed during the Corona pandemic, the office activities did not stop, development activities did not stop. One crore 70 lakh files have been disposed of through e-documents since 2016. At present, more than one lakh officers are using e-documents in 11,000 offices. As a result, the government office has been freed from the tyranny of red tape.
The state minister said construction work of Sheikh Kamal IT Training and Incubation Center, Hi-Tech Park, Technical Training Center, Technical School and College and Sheikh Russel Mini Stadium at Sherkol area of Singra at a total cost of Taka 280 crore is progressing fast. Chalanbil, the land of underdeveloped- terrorized locality, is no longer lagging behind. Singra is being developed as a digital city, he added.
